Antonio draws from his repertoire of Folktales with an ecological theme with a myriad of realistic sound effects, one of a kind movement and fantastical characters that will not only entertain but also educate. This ecological show teaches kids about the importance of our Natural world and how we depend on it for our livelihood.
CrossRoads (Grades K-8)
Antonio Rocha (pronounced Haw-Sha) performs stories from around our beautiful world with his signature moves and realistic sound effects. This culturally diverse show not only entertains but also teaches how cultural diversity enriches the world and makes it into fascinating place to live in. Teachers are encourage to let Antonio know if they are studying a particular culture, so that Antonio can include that part of the world in the show. He has travelled to 40 countries across 6 continents and brings a well rounded approach of our beautiful planet to all kids.
About the Artist
Award winning storyteller Antonio Rocha (pronounced haw-sha) presents a unique fusion of verbal and mime narratives coated by a tenor voice, and fantastical sound effects. He has presented in prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian, The National Storytelling Festival, The Mesa Performing Arts Center, The Timpanogos Storytelling Festival plus dozens of other storytelling festivals and educational institutions across the USA and in 15 other countries on six continents. His folktale adaptations, personal stories and mime sketches are filled with charismatic characters, cultural diversity, social justice, immigration and environmental lessons. Antonio has received several awards and grants, including the once in a life time Circle of Excellence Award. This award was presented to him in 2015 by the National Storytelling Network for his exceptional commitment and exemplary contributions to the art of storytelling.
