Peter and the Wolf w/ Kelet Trio | East Hartford

In this classic tale, each character in the story is given its own music played by a certain orchestral instrument. Listen as a brave boy, Peter, cunningly outwits a bad wolf. The story will be read by a narrator. Meet the crafty cat, an unfortunate duck, a grumpy grandfather, and the carefree courageous bird as the musicians interpret this playful piece.

Students get a hands-on shot at trying some of the easier (and safer!) skills such as ribbon dancing and basic plate spinning. They learn the historical significance of traditional lion and dragon dances and are encouraged to think about what it might have been like to grow up in a different time and place.

The Cultivating Creativity Conference is aimed at equipping teachers in an academic setting with skills and strategies for integrating the arts into daily academic curriculum. Many studies show that the integration of arts into the daily lives of students helps with academic engagement, improved Social-Emotional intelligence, and even higher test scores. You don’t have to be an artist to cultivate one!
