Paraguayan Harp w/ Nicolas Carter | Darien

Nicolas weaves his outstanding harp music with storytelling, introducing students to the magical, beautiful, soulful world of making music with strings. He adapts his workshops to meet the children and engage them in conversation, singing and dancing. Young audiences delight in an imaginary story of the origins of the harp while older students with the aid of visuals are presented insight into the geography and characteristics of Paraguayan culture.

The Fairy Circus w/ Tanglewood Marionettes | Hamden

Featuring over twenty beautifully hand-crafted marionettes, The Fairy Circus is a showcase for turn-of-the-century-style trick puppetry. The puppets will dance, play instruments, juggle, contort, transform, and fly through the air with the greatest of ease, all to the best-loved music of favorite composers. This title is perfect for younger children and family audiences.

The Fairy Circus is performed by a solo puppeteer. The presentation includes a lively puppetry demonstration prior to the show, and a Question and Answer session following the performance.

Carol is also in demand around the country for professional development workshops on arts integration.

Ole' w/ Flamenco! | New Canaan

Flamenco-Ole!” combines an exciting and colorful performance with interactive activities and educational explanations, giving students a hands-on experience of the Spanish art of Flamenco. With top-notch artists, including live guitar, singing, and dancing, students are able to see and hear the different sounds, styles, and emotions inherent in Flamenco. Through age-appropriate explanations, they learn about the geographic and historical roots of the different cultures and religions that created Flamenco, while also learning Spanish vocabulary and counting. To top it all off, audience members learn how to “tocar las palmas” (rhythmic hand-clapping), “zapatear” (do footwork), and “tocar las castañuelas” (play the castanets).
