HAMDEN, CTSeptember 5, 2025 — Arts for Learning Connecticut (AFLCT) is proud to announce it has received a grant award of $2,000 from The Albert Wadsworth and Helen Clark Meserve Memorial Fund in support of its Creative Arts Learning across Greater Danbury initiative. This funding will help bring vibrant, culturally responsive arts learning experiences to thousands of students and community members across the region during the 2025–26 school year.

With this support, AFLCT will provide performances, workshops, and extended artist residencies in schools, libraries, and community institutions across Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, and Sherman. The program will reach more than 5,000 individuals, with a focus on underserved populations, expanding upon the success of last year’s initiative.

“This grant makes it possible for us to connect even more young people to the transformative power of the arts,” said John-Michael Parker, Executive Director of Arts for Learning CT. “By working alongside our incredible Teaching Artists, students not only engage creatively, but also strengthen social-emotional skills, build cultural understanding, and make meaningful connections to what they are learning in school.”

This initiative directly supports the foundation’s mission to strengthen education and community capacity in Fairfield County while expanding AFLCT’s ability to serve schools equitably.
