This funding will support the expansion of AFLCT’s high-quality arts learning programs to students across Connecticut, furthering its mission to inspire and educate through the arts. HAMDEN, CT – August 8, 2024 – Arts for Learning Connecticut (AFLCT) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the KAWFY Memorial Fund and the Lynda M. Mazur and Michael F. Colomonico Jr. Hands-On Fund at the Main Street Community Foundation. The funding will benefit Joseph A. DePaolo Middle AFLCT is excited to welcome Jed Kornbluh as our new Director of Business Development. With a robust background in sales, marketing, and brand development, Jed’s expertise in the sports product and event production sectors, including work with cycling apparel brands like Verge Sport and Ostroy, will be instrumental in expanding AFLCT’s reach throughout Connecticut. His prior role as Executive Director Higher Order Thinking (HOT) Schools presents CT KIDS, a Fall 2023 Arts Integrated Residency (AIR) at Concord Magnet School co-designed and co-facilitated by Teaching Artists, Roxy Savage & Victor Chiburis with Educators, Lauren Baker & Dana Velez. We’re grateful to receive this continued funding through the state arts agency—and eager On November 15th, AFLCT kicked off the second year of our EMERGE Teaching Artist Training Program! This year, thanks to funding from the Young Audiences Affiliate Development Fund, the International Association of New Haven, and the NHV Creative Arts Advancement from the Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism in New Haven, we were able to We’ve just published our 2022-23 Annual Report—and are so excited to share everything that we’ve been up to this past year! In the report you’ll find impact highlights, like: -2,238 programs provided -165,629 students served -89 Teaching Artists engaged You’ll also read about programs like Emerge, a training and mentorship program for emerging Teaching Artists Every year between September 15th and October 15th we celebrate our Hispanic themed programming as well as our Hispanic identifying Teaching Artists.
