Hamden, CT — August 5, 2026 — Arts for Learning Connecticut (AFLCT) has received a $7,500 grant from NJM Insurance Group to support Expanding Arts Learning Opportunities Across Connecticut, a statewide initiative that will bring high-quality arts learning experiences to students, educators, and families during the 2026-27 school year.
The grant will help AFLCT partner with schools and community organizations across Connecticut to provide performances, workshops, artist residencies, and professional development led by more than 90 professional Teaching Artists. These experiences use creativity to support classroom learning while strengthening communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and cultural understanding.

The award builds on two years of partnership between NJM Insurance Group and AFLCT. NJM’s previous support has helped sustain responsive arts programming, strengthen HOT Schools, and advance the Connecticut Arts Learning Collaborative during a period of significant financial uncertainty for schools and arts organizations.
