Hamden, CT — June 16, 2026 — Arts for Learning Connecticut (AFLCT) has been awarded an $11,482 grant through the Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund, administered by the Connecticut Office of the Arts within the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).

The grant provides unrestricted operating support, helping AFLCT continue its mission to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. Flexible funding of this kind enables the organization to strengthen operations, support its statewide network of professional Teaching Artists, and respond to the evolving needs of schools and communities across Connecticut.

For more than 50 years, Arts for Learning Connecticut has partnered with schools, libraries, municipalities, community organizations, and afterschool programs to provide high-quality arts learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding. Through workshops, performances, artist residencies, and long-term school partnerships, AFLCT delivers more than 1,700 programs annually, serving over 65,000 students, educators, and family members throughout Connecticut.

“General operating support is among the most meaningful investments a funder can make in a nonprofit organization,” said John-Michael Parker, Executive Director of Arts for Learning Connecticut. “We are grateful to the Connecticut Office of the Arts and the State of Connecticut for their continued commitment to arts and culture. This grant helps ensure that we can continue serving more than 65,000 learners annually while strengthening the organizational capacity needed to meet growing demand for arts learning programs across Connecticut.”

The Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund supports nonprofit arts organizations that contribute to Connecticut’s cultural vitality and strengthen communities through the arts. AFLCT’s grant funding period runs from April 15, 2026, through October 15, 2026.
