Arts for Learning CT Awarded $5,000 Grant from the Marjorie Moore Charitable Foundation to Support Social-Emotional Learning at Griswold Elementary School

Hamden, ConnecticutArts for Learning CT (AFLCT) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Marjorie Moore Charitable Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee to support “Beloved Community” – Social and Emotional Learning in Kensington, an innovative arts-based program at Griswold Elementary School during the 2025-2026 school year.

The “Beloved Community” program will integrate arts learning with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies, empowering students to develop self-awareness, empathy, and collaboration skills through creative expression. By engaging students in theater, music, movement, and visual arts, the program will foster meaningful connections, encourage positive identity development, and strengthen the school’s commitment to inclusivity and emotional well-being.

The Marjorie Moore Charitable Foundation, administered by Bank of America, N.A., funds programs that enrich communities through education, health, and social welfare initiatives. This generous grant aligns with AFLCT’s mission to inspire young learners and expand their learning through the arts and Griswold Elementary School’s dedication to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
