Hamden, CT — April 9, 2026 — Arts for Learning CT (AFLCT) is pleased to announce it has received a $4,000 grant from The Rockfall Foundation to support its CT Conservation Tour: “Creating” Earth Day 2025, a multi-site arts and environmental education initiative serving students across the Lower Connecticut River Valley.

The grant will fund a series of live performances and arts learning experiences designed to engage more than 2,000 students in grades 1–6 in conversations around conservation, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

Through performances by multiple AFLCT Teaching Artists, including Billy B and Sirius Coyote, students will explore environmental themes in dynamic, accessible ways that encourage curiosity, creativity, and action. The program will take place in five communities: Chester, Clinton, East Haddam, Killingworth, and Middletown, and will reach schools with limited access to arts and environmental programming.

“This support from The Rockfall Foundation allows us to bring meaningful, arts-integrated environmental education directly to students,” said John-Michael Parker, Executive Director of Arts for Learning Connecticut. “By combining the power of the arts with environmental learning, we’re helping young people better understand their role in protecting the world around them.”

The CT Conservation Tour aligns with The Rockfall Foundation’s priorities in conservation and education, leveraging the arts to deepen student engagement and expand access to high-quality learning experiences.
