Hamden, CT — June 29, 2026 — Arts for Learning Connecticut (AFLCT) has received a $2,273.29 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s City Missionary Association of New Haven Fund to support the organization’s general operating expenses.
The award provides flexible funding that will strengthen AFLCT’s ability to deliver high-quality arts education programs throughout Connecticut while supporting the organizational infrastructure that makes those programs possible.
Unlike project-specific grants, general operating support enables AFLCT to respond to emerging community needs, invest in organizational capacity, and sustain the day-to-day operations that underpin its statewide impact. From supporting Teaching Artists and program staff to enhancing outreach, partnership development, and administrative systems, unrestricted funding plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission.
“We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and the City Missionary Association of New Haven Fund for this investment in our organization,” said John-Michael Parker, Executive Director of Arts for Learning Connecticut. “Flexible operating support is among the most valuable forms of philanthropy because it allows us to direct resources where they are needed most while continuing to provide meaningful arts learning experiences for students, educators, and communities across Connecticut.”
Arts for Learning Connecticut delivers thousands of arts education experiences each year through school residencies, performances, professional development, early childhood programming, after-school initiatives, and community partnerships. The organization’s statewide network of professional Teaching Artists works with schools, libraries, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations to inspire creativity, strengthen learning, and expand access to the arts.
“We’re honored by the Community Foundation’s continued confidence in our work,” said Jed Kornbluh, Director of Business Development at Arts for Learning Connecticut. “General operating support provides the flexibility that allows organizations like ours to innovate, respond to new opportunities, and continue serving communities with excellence. We’re grateful for this partnership and its investment in our long-term sustainability.”
