Hamden, CT – Arts for Learning CT (AFLCT) is proud to announce that the Nellie Mae Education Foundation has awarded a $5,000 sponsorship grant to support the upcoming Family Arts Festival, taking place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Whitneyville Cultural Commons in Hamden. With this generous gift, Nellie Mae will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the event.

The Family Arts Festival is a free, statewide celebration of creativity, culture, and community. Designed to ensure all families, especially those from historically underrepresented communities, have access to high-quality arts learning, the festival offers live performances, hands-on workshops, and interactive arts experiences for children, parents, and educators.

“This partnership with Nellie Mae Education Foundation reflects our shared commitment to educational equity,” said Jed Kornbluh, Director of Business Development at AFLCT. “With Nellie Mae’s support, we can offer a truly inclusive, joyful day of arts engagement that centers student voice, creativity, and belonging.”

The event aligns closely with Nellie Mae’s mission to champion education justice and racial equity across New England. AFLCT estimates the majority of event participants will come from low- to moderate-income households, with targeted outreach to Title I schools and community-based organizations across the region.
