HAMDEN, CT — October 14, 2025 — Wolfpit Integrated Arts Elementary School, a Higher Order Thinking Schools cohort member for the past three years, has been named an Exemplary School by the Arts Schools Network (ASN) for 2025–2030.
At Wolfpit, the staff fosters creativity, confidence, and academic success for all students through integrating academic content and dance, vocal and instrumental music, theatre, and the visual arts. In this small school setting, students are encouraged to develop a sense of self and voice as part of a strong foundation for their future academic and personal growth.
This national recognition affirms Wolfpit’s deep commitment to tenets aligned with the HOT Schools Approach—arts integration, creativity, collaboration, and higher order thinking. Through these practices, Wolfpit educators engage students as active thinkers and makers, cultivating both academic and artistic excellence.
We are especially proud of Wolfpit’s HOT Schools Site Coordinator and Arts Integration Specialist / Theatre Coach, Alyson Cahill, whose leadership and vision have been instrumental in advancing the school’s arts integrated culture.
The Arts Schools Network award honors schools that model best practices in arts education and leadership. Wolfpit’s designation reflects its success in weaving together the arts, academics, and higher order thinking to create a vibrant, inclusive learning community.
HOT Schools congratulates Wolfpit Integrated Arts Elementary School on this outstanding achievement and celebrates the dedication of its educators in bringing the arts to the heart of teaching and learning.
