Frequently Asked Questions: Scheduling Programs
Here are a few questions that we often hear while scheduling programs, especially from those who have never worked with AFCLT before! Have more questions? Please reach out to our Program Manager, Loraine Brown, at 475-333-0340 or lbrown@aflct.org.
AFLCT offers a variety of program types (performances, workshops, residencies and professional development) in a wide array of arts disciplines. We provide programs for schools, libraries, summer camps, after school programs, and much more!
Once you reach out to us (either through our program directory or by contacting Loraine), we will work with you to find the program that matches your needs and budget. To start we’ll need to discuss the basics of program type, dates, times, and budget. Other topics might include any curricular connections, student/participant needs, etc.
Once your program choice(s) are made, we’ll reach out to the artist(s) to confirm availability. Once confirmed, we will send you a contract to sign. We encourage the artist to get in touch before the program but you can always reach out as well: their contact information is on your contract.
No, Arts for Learning Connecticut pays the artist and your payments will be due to AFLCT. The deposit is due when the program is contracted and the second payment is due two weeks before the program beings. The last page of the contract you receive is a payment coupon, please include it with your payment and mail it to:

Artists all have different set up needs. Please go to the artist’s program page to see how much time they need before and after the show.
Every artist is different! Please go to the artist’s program page and review what they have listed for needs. If you have any concerns, please let us know and we can get more details from the artist.
It depends on the artist; please ask at the start of scheduling a program. If the program is scheduled outdoors please make sure you can bring it inside in case of inclement weather. Please note some artists will charge half the full contract amount to secure a specific rain date.
