Hamden, CT — Arts for Learning CT (AFLCT) is thrilled to announce a generous $10,000 grant award from the J. Walton Bissell Foundation. This funding supports AFLCT’s General Operating needs in the Hartford region, advancing its mission to inspire and enrich students’ lives through high-quality arts learning experiences.
AFLCT’s programs bring diverse Teaching Artists into schools and communities, offering performances, workshops, residencies, and professional development for educators. These culturally responsive and curriculum-aligned programs engage more than 100,000 students annually in over half of Connecticut’s towns. AFLCT serves students in communities such as East Hartford, Bloomfield, Manchester, and South Windsor in the Hartford region alone.
“The J. Walton Bissell Foundation’s support enables us to continue providing equitable and impactful arts programming to students who need it most,” said AFLCT Executive Director John-Michael Parker. “We’re proud to help close opportunity gaps and inspire the next generation of learners through creativity, joy, and imagination.”
