HAMDEN, CT, May 23, 2025 — Arts for Learning CT is pleased to announce a $1,500 grant award from the Ahearn Family Foundation to expand its video documentation and community engagement capacity in Hartford County. This renewed investment builds on the Foundation’s prior support, enabling AFLCT to continue visually showcasing the transformative power of arts learning in classrooms and community settings across the region.

The grant will fund the purchase of professional-grade video and mobile outreach equipment, including a stabilizer, LED light panel, external microphone, iPad, and mobile registration tools. These resources will enable AFLCT to capture high-quality footage of student engagement in programs and performances, while streamlining participation at public events, such as the organization’s annual Family Arts Festival.

“These upgrades will elevate the quality and reach of our storytelling, allowing us to celebrate our students better and share the impact of our work with funders, schools, and families,” said Jed Kornbluh, AFLCT’s Director of Business Development. “We’re grateful to the Ahearn Family Foundation for helping us amplify the voices and creativity of young people through the power of video.”

In FY24, with previous Ahearn Foundation support, AFLCT began integrating video storytelling to enhance outreach to educators, donors, and community stakeholders. This latest investment ensures continued progress and innovation in how AFLCT documents and shares its impact.
