Hamden, CT – Arts for Learning CT (AFLCT) is proud to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Grace J. Fippinger Foundation. This funding will support AFLCT’s arts learning programs in Fairfield County during the 2024-25 school year, helping to expand creative opportunities for students, educators, and teaching artists throughout the region.
The grant will enable AFLCT to deliver various impactful programs, including individual arts learning activities like performances, workshops, and residencies, reaching approximately 20,000 students across multiple towns. It will also help continue the Higher Order Thinking Schools initiative at three Fairfield County schools, a program that fosters student engagement, enriches school culture, and enhances teacher practices. Additionally, the grant will support the professional development of Teaching Artists through the “Emerge” program, which mentors underrepresented artists and builds a more diverse and skilled roster.
“We are deeply grateful to the Grace J. Fippinger Foundation for their support,” said John-Michael Parker, Executive Director of AFLCT. “This grant ensures we can continue our mission to inspire creativity and learning through the arts while making a meaningful impact in Fairfield County schools and communities.”
